The MoBa. This is the "orchestral" barrel according to Morrie. It is designed to be more resistant (which means: it ain't for me, but that's what makes us all unique, isn't it?), and as a result provides a focused sound that will easily carry to the 4th balcony. Or 5th. Definitely to the 5th.
Cocobolo vs. Grenadilla? That's up to you; they both feel about the same to me, so it's pretty much an aesthetic thing. Note: These barrels fit only Backun, Buffet, Royal, and Uebel clarinets—but not Selmer. Contact me if you'd like to try one for your Selmer.

I needed a shorter barrel stat, for a new-to-me 60's vintange Buffet clarinet, that plays a lot more flat than what I was accustomed to with my 80's Buffet (I'm accustomed to my clarinets running sharp.) I ordered the barrel on a weekend, and it arrived to me within three days, just in time for rehearsal! I've been playing on a slightly longer Cocobolo Moba for the last several years, so I knew exactly what I was getting...and the slightly shorter barrel is exactly what was needed to solve the intonation issue! Even 1 mm shorter (or longer) makes a big difference in intonation. This barrel really makes a huge difference in sound and warmth, and body. This barrel has played a big role in upgrading an already good sound to an even nicer one! And just for added bonus, the barrel itself is really beautiful! I'm very happy with this Music Store and with what I received!
