Another winner from my friends at Vandoren.
I love how simple and un-fussy this thing is. Sound-wise it produces a somewhat lighter sound with crisper attacks than the Optimum—it's a less substantial piece of metal, which is part of the reason. And like bike helmets, you pay more for less. But I think in this case, it's worth the extra coin.
This rose gold edition is simply gorgeous. Really, the pictures don't do it justice!

I recently bought the Vandoren MO ligature and at first couldn't find it's voice. I usually play on the Vandoren leather and wanted a metal to compliment but required a metal that didn't contribute to a sound that was buzzy or tenor saxophone. This ligature after going through a series of long tones and a proper warm-up on my bass allowed me to create a warm, rich, and projecting sound that sings and carries through a big hall without the added buzz, brilliance, or twang that has historically turned me off of metal ligatures. There's a clear ring to the sound that I appreciate especially in the upper Clarion register and the lowest of lows is vibrant and enveloping. Solid fan of the ligature but it did take a moment to find it.
