World's Slipperiest Cork Grease
World's Slipperiest Cork Grease
This is the same stuff as Ultimax Cork Lubricant, which is the slipperiest cork lubricant known to humankind. Or dogkind.
What is Ultimax? It is cork- and adhesive-safe lubricant that will not break down cork (like cork grease made from petroleum — which is what most of the “chapstick tube” cork grease sticks are based on). It’s also safe for wood, ABS, and composite (e.g.: Greenline) and rubber. You’ll notice it doesn’t cake on, but rather absorbs into the cork, leaving a long-lasting glide.
Word to the wise: use only a TINY amount at first. You won’t need to glop it on like other cork grease.
Give it a try; for 5 bucks you really can’t go wrong.

I've used the World's Slipperiest Cork Grease for a couple of weeks now (first time trying it). I have to say it lives up to its name, using very little to get good results. The only down side is that I'm finding I need to keep a separate cloth/rag in my case to wipe my fingers afterward so that I don't get it on my horn and keys. Works great!
This is truly the best cork grease I have ever used, but I hesitate to call it grease. It's neither greasy or sticky , it's lube for your clarinet. A little goes a long way trust me!! For those of you who have metal tenon caps you know that sometimes they can get a little stuck when you have them right up against the wood, however, when you put a little on the tenon it slides in and out and moves around with ease. It's absolutely hands down the only lube you want to use for your horn. Run, don't walk to get yourself some of this magic. Be careful though as the label warns you-it's slippery when wet.!!!
A little of this goes a long way, as they say. And it works. It’s wonderful. I’ll be back for more and won’t go back to regular cork grease (if I can help it).
Well named cork grease! Works very well, best of all the cork grease that I have tried over the years. Highly recommend.
This is the best cork grease I have used in more than 50 years. Now if you could somehow install a chip that would enable the “find my cork grease” app so I didn’t keep misplacing it…
