The Box Under My Bed (Bass Clarinet & Track)

This piece is pretty sentimental; I think I compartmentalize times in my life — growing up, college years, living in holland — and I store my memories in a special place in my brain. I often take those memories out and imagine them now, remembering smells and people and places and feelings, enjoy them for a while, and then put them back. I know many people have keepsakes in a (literal) box, maybe in a closet, maybe under their bed...and this piece is about those memories, and how one feels when they remember them.

It's one of my favorites.
