This is an interesting ligature. Like a Rovner, it's leather. Like a Vandoren Optimum, it's got three interchangeable plates—metal, rubber and leather. I play it on and off, because one of the more interesting plates is the leather one. (The other plates are interesting, too, but the leather one produces a pretty cool response). It definitely produces a darker sound than the metal ligatures. And of course, because it's leather, you can step on it with impunity and it won't get destroyed like metal ligatures.
It's a great piece to have in your kit, even if you "don't need another damn ligature" because, 1) it's interesting, 2) it's pretty cheap, 3) it is a different sound than you may be used to getting, 4) you love trying out new gear.
