Clocking in at just 540 grams (19oz) this Carbon Fiber Tablet Stand is, yet again, another marvel from the mind of Gijs Van Leeuwen at WoodWindDesign. Sheesh, does this guy ever sleep?
The stand collapses into an easy-to-carry set of 3 parts: tubes, base, and clip, and easily can fit in a decent-sized backpack with all the rest of your junk. It'll even fit in some bass clarinet cases.
However you carry it, once set up it's sturdy as heck, and makes performing with your iPad a breeze.

Couldn't load pickup availability
In terms of engineering, there are more robust solutions to the basic task of holding your tablet so you can read music on it while playing. They also weigh more and, in my experience, don't hold the tablet any steadier than this product. It is as stable as anything else I've used, it fits in my ample gig bag, and it assembles and disassembles reasonably quickly. I now leave the metal mic stand and clamping mechanism at home for practicing, and take this to rehearsals and concerts. I've had no problems with it at all. In this use case, there are no advantages to heavier stuff.
