Yes, I did it. I actually decided to stock an Alto clarinet in the shop.

Any of you who play Alto Clarinet know that most of them out in the world are like 93 years old, and sound like it. If you love the Alto clarinet (and really, who doesn't root for the underdog?) then you deserve to play one of the best on the market. Selmer's deep roots in saxophone design are clearly brought to bear in the design of their Alto clarinets. Does it play like a sax? No, but dang, if you whip this out in a club and start wailing on it, you will have immediate fans. Hell, I'll be first in line to ask for your autograph.

Down to brass-tacks: Alto clarinets are awkward. Key spacing is weirder than most clarinets, because sitting in the range they do, intonation is a real challenge. This Selmer is no exception, but I've had it worked on — massively. It's gone through a complete makeover with undercut tone holes, spring tension refactoring, and a host of other things so that it plays as close to perfect as an Alto clarinet can play. Miles DeCastro and I worked for nearly a month to figure out how to make this thing play better. I think we succeeded. 

And, even though we did all this work, we're STILL offering the Alto clarinet at a discount, because we got it on sale from Selmer and we're passing the savings on to you.

Q: What if I'm in New York and want to try it in person?
A: Contact me to set up an appointment, and let's do it!

Q: Does the instrument come with a warranty?
A: Yes, it comes with the standard Selmer warranty against cracks, etc. If you ever have any problem with the instrument, I'm your quarterback. I'll take care of the whole process, just let me know you need help, and I'll take it from there.

Q: What happens if it's damaged during shipping?
A: Inspect the package before you sign off at delivery! If there are any issues resulting from shipping, we have taken out an insurance policy to cover damage (and loss). But we need you to document this damage or we can't do anything to help.

Q: If I decide to return it, do also I have to pay return shipping costs?
A: Yes. And you will also want to insure it!

Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: Yes. You can add your shipping address when checking out to see what the shipping costs will be before taking the plunge. Note that VAT and Customs Duties are not included in this cost.

Q: Can I at least hear it first??
