Marcus Bonna Ultra-Compact Bass Clarinet Case (Low C) [earspasm edition]

Brand new from the Bonna family, this bass clarinet case is as small as a violin case. Yes, really.

André and Marcus Bonna have seemingly done the impossible: they've made a bass clarinet case that is the smallest and lightest on the market, even smaller and lighter than the carbon fiber bass clarinet cases from Wiseman — and for a fraction of the cost. Measuring just 30" tall, by 10" wide, by 5" deep (76.2 cm x 25.4 cm x 12.7 cm) — except for the bell portion which bumps out for the last few inches to 6.5" deep (16.5 cm). And it weighs just 6.4 pounds (2.9 kg) when empty.

Just as protective as its big sister, the Bass Clarinet & Bb Double case ,this case also suspends the instrument in mid-air using high-density foam, allowing no keys to touch the case itself. I'll cut and paste why this is important from the double case page:

I don't want keys touching the case.
Why? Because I don't want the keys to go out of adjustment from the pressure and jostling that occurs when carrying the instrument around.
Why? Because I like saving money on repair costs.
Why? Because I like beer.

Also, like the double case, this case comes with a backpack strap set, a rain cover, a music/tablet/computer pouch (will hold up to 16" laptops and any tablet you can imagine). It also comes with a humidity pack from Boveda, a padded neck pouch and leather mouthpiece pouch, along with extra foam cushions for you to customize the case to your instrument. Yes, you can move all of the foam blocks around so this case can be made to hold a low Eb bass clarinet, too! Amazing.

I'm also delighted to report that these cases are proudly made using 100% Renewable energy.

Initially, I'm carrying only a few colors, but plan to stock the "regular set" you'll find in the double cases I've been carrying for years. If you order anything besides purple at the moment, it will deliver in September.

Also note: I'm going to ask Bonna to remove the bass clarinet bell leather applique from the music pouch on future iterations of this case, at least for Earspasm ones, since it's not really my style — it surprised me, too. Of course, if you want one with the leather imprint, let me know and I can order that for you.

Important Note: This case will not fit instruments that have the Low C key on the bottom joint (rather than the bell). This only affects certain Buffet bass clarinets from the early 1990s, but check your instrument to be sure!
